Our Commitment to Sustainability

The Penn State Climate Consortium is committed to reducing the environmental footprint of our activities, including the 2024 Climate Solutions Symposium. We are promoting sustainability by: 

  • Distributing information electronically through an event app and website that allow participants to navigate the event and share materials electronically to minimize paper usage 
  • Providing conference name tags that are recyclable, and using recycled materials where possible 
  • Encouraging attendees to bring a reusable water bottle and/or coffee cup 
  • Encouraging attendees to walk, carpool, and/or take public transportation to venues for off-site activities 
  • Encouraging the use of seasonal and local food ingredients and providing food options with a lower carbon footprint 
  • Reusing signage and other printed event materials
